Robert Bosch is a worldwide supplier of systems in the field of automotive. Well known are fuel injection systems, ESP, ABS and airbag systems, advanced car radio systems, car navigation systems and traffic control techniques made by Robert Bosch. Sales in 1998 have been DM 50.3 billions in total, where 31.8 billions have been in automotive equipment. Robert Bosch employs about 188000 people, 123000 in the field of automotive equipment.
The automotive microelectronics branch of Robert Bosch, the K8 division in Reutlingen, has been intensively involved in the design and manufacture of application specific integrated circuits and systems, since the late sixties. A main working area is the development of digital, analog and mixed signal circuits based on most innovative design methods and CAD tools. Major competencies of these groups include system design which fulfill highest requirements concerning complexity, high level of security and reliability.
