IP2 Logo

The project "IP2" targets new EDA methods and products for next-generation wireless networks. Research will focus on application-specific EDA-methods. This will include adapted design methods for intellectual properties (IPs) and accurate architectural prototyping as well as the utilization of the development and optimization of novel configurable system-on-chips (SoCs). The results are to be integrated into next generation wireless networks that are based on the internet protocol. Existing GSM based networks and their GPRS derivates, new UMTS based networks, and Hiperlan solutions to achieve wireless data rates far above 2Mb/s will be supported. Special attention will be given to settling standards in this area in order to win a competitive edge.
