Since 2013, EuWoRel is the annual forum for addressing the concerns of reliability, robustness, and functional safety of new products and technologies in the field of electronics and smart systems. It makes further research requirements on reliability methodology clearly visible. In addition, EuWoRel is a great opportunity for showcasing recent results and for creating new project ideas for collaborative research.
In the 2017 workshop, held from Sept. 26 to Sept. 27 in Berlin, around 35 European experts from leading industry and research organizations exchanged successfully the current state of the art in electronics reliability research. Participants of the European Project “TRACE” contributed for the second time to the workshop. This year, four contributions were directly or indirectly linked to the upcoming research topics of making assisted or autonomous driving reliable, guarantee robustness and safety of the new automated systems for harsh automotive environments, but at an affordable price. In particular, contributions discussed the major focus of the project to transfer low price micro systems from the consumer market to automotive use conditions.
