On April 2 to 5, the EuroSimE 2017 took place in Dresden. This international conference brought together companies, research institutes and universities from the fields of thermal, mechanical and multi-physics simulation and experiments in microelectronics and microsystems.
TRACE partner Chemnitzer Werkstoffmechanik GmbH, FRT GmbH and the Fraunhofer ENAS Chemnitz presented their research results from TRACE during presentations and demonstrations on a joint booth of the industrial exhibition. Visitors from Europe, Asia and the USA were highly interested in the project innovations, and many new contacts could be established.
The TRACE methodology and initial results were also presented in the plenary session of Dr. Rainer Dudek from Fraunhofer ENAS Chemnitz.
As the highlight of the EuroSimE 2017, Dr. Rainer Dudek received the EuroSimE 2017 Achievement Award for fundamental research and industrial application in the field of thermal, mechanical and multiphysics simulation and experiments in microelectronics and microsystems. His 2017 contribution “Board Level Reliability Assessment of Consumer Components for Automotive Use by Simulation and Sophisticated Optical Deformation Analyses”, based on the current research activities within the TRACE consortium and co-authored by a team of consortium members (M. Hildebrand, S. Rzepka, J. Beintner, R.Döring, L. Scheiter, B. Seiler, Th. Fries, R. W. Ortmann) was selected as outstanding paper and contributed to the award.
