Abstract

Dr. Rudolf Koch will demonstrate some examples and challenges in Analog, Mixed Signal & RF Design. He will show shortcomings in the traditional design flow and discuss the Big Ideas as well as the Small Steps required to make progress in the world of analog EDA.

Curriculum Vitae

Rudolf Koch was born in Munich, Germany. He received the Dipl.-Ing. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Technical University, Munich in 1973 and 1980, respectively. From 1974 to 1981 he was with the research labs of Siemens in Munich as project manager for solid state area imagers (CCDs). From 1981 to 1983 he was group manger for consumer IC‘s at Eurosil in Eching, Germany. From 1983 until 2000 he was with the telecommunications departement of Siemens Semiconductors in Munich, finally as director for analogue circuit design. He followed the spin off of Infineon, where he is now innovations manager in the Wireless Solutions business unit. His current interests include CMOS RF & MS design problems and sub-100nm CMOS technology aspects. Rudolf Koch holds over 30 patents. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications and conference presentations, and has lectured several courses. He has organised AACD2000 and was resp. is a member of several conference program committees. Currently he is TPC chair of ESSCIRC’03 and European Secretary of ISSCC. He is IEEE senior member.
